PhotoShop - Emulate the technique of Dave Hill
October 18th, 2008 in Tutorials
Dave Hill is surely one of the best modern photographers of our days. His photos seems similar to illustrations, because he applies to his photos a postprocessing work with photoshop to have vivid colors, beautiful lights and perfect gradient objects of a typical hand design.
His technique not has a name, but many graphic designers or photographers are trying to emulate it. I’ve read 3 tutorials about Dave Hill Photos, where applying some photoshop filters you could obtain a photo similar to Dave Hill Photos.
Abduzeedo
Using HDR technique, Abduzeedo’s Boys have obtained worst result. Their technique is very far from Dave Hill Technique.
Scott Kelby
This photographer have obtained a nice result. He is the redactor of “Photoshop User Magazine”. Scott starts using Adobe Photoshop RAW plugin to process RAW images (Camera RAW). In his tutorial he use Lucis Art plugin to create Lights and subsequently he use the skin smoothing technique to smooth surfaces.
O Casasola
he is a Flickr user called “O Casasola”. He have published his tutorial with a good results using “High Pass Effect” of Photoshop.
